Recommend me books? I'm a voracious reader. I love dragons at the moment and I'm new to fantasy novels..?

I love the Inheritance Cycle and would like to read something like it to tide me over until the final book comes out.. I'd like something as captivating and other-worldly and I love epic quests, battles, magic and journeys. Also, i recently read Melissa Marrs wicked lovely series and i loved how the hunt communicated with their steeds, like Saphira in Eragon, with their minds, i loved the bond, how they belonged together. Are there any other books like this? Not necessarily dragon ones either.. I usually read action suspense thrillers like David Gibbons, Matthew Reilly and Michael Crichton so i'm looking forward to a new genre. Thanks heaps!!!
