Hinduism...Why does our ancient scriptures support killing of animals?

This is hinduism and these are the rules. What do you mean by why? Ask Manu, Brahma as to why they made this rules. It was buddhism, jainism that made hindu brahmins vegetarians and stopped animal sacrifices.
